Pretty Things Around the Home

Roses in Fore in Duke of Windsor's Garden at His Summer Home in South of France

Last week I was busy sorting and organizing. I also washed our living room curtains. Today, I sorted through all my old clothes and put them away. I threw out the useless items and stored away the rest. Then I hung up my newer dresses and put away my newer skirts and tops. This way I am able to quickly find something fresh and pretty without too much searching.

I am still working on getting rid of every single thing I do not need. The simpler the home is, the prettier it will be and the easier it is to keep neat.

I am eager for spring to come to Vermont, but we have mountains and mountains of snow-banks surrounding our property. It is very pretty and cozy. I will have to savor the rest of the winter season for as long as I possibly can, but I do long for the beauty of fresh flowers growing on the front property. I also can't wait to open up all the windows and have the lovely breezes blowing throughout the house.

I am just about to make a little homemade pizza for lunch. I will also have some ginger-ale. Then I will finish up the day's schoolwork with the children and enjoy a peaceful afternoon.

How are your plans for spring coming along?

Blessings
Mrs. White

I, too, am working on getting rid of the non-essentials. I used to think I need pretty "things" to enjoy our home, but then it became overrun with "stuff" and was not enjoyable at all. Each day I try to de-clutter just a bit more, and each day our home becomes more of the haven we envisioned it being.

Thanks for sharing your life with us; your blog is a place I come when I need encouragement as a homemaker and I always find it.

Mrs. White; you are such a calm influence and blessing when I get the time to read your blog in the mornings! We got 5+ inches of snow here in Utah yesterday after a beautiful weekend of short sleeve weather and I was finding myself irritated with what I wanted to do outside in free moments this week when it struck me that I still had winter indoor things to accomplish inside so it was a blessing that forced me to focus inside rather than let those chores get away from me while frolicking outside. So plans this week out this way are to finish handing the valances in the kitchen bay as well as making the drapes for our bedroom ~ have a wonderful day sweet lady!

Hello Mrs. White.
Spring is in the air and the flowers are starting to pop through the ground. Hurray!!!

I'll be washing Parlor panels in a few days...windows cleaned from here until it's finished for the Spring.

Cleaning out my closet through out the months of March/April.

Cleaning out the flowerbed in April/May.

Just overall cleaning!
God bless,
d

Sounds wonderful and you are getting so much done. I think that we are (as I read blogs) mostly going into a more simple way of life with less "stuff." My girls and I love pizza and we love gingerale. We just had gingerale a couple weeks ago while we were sick. 2- 2 liters of it. Mmmmmmm! The girls get it as a treat sometimes! I love when the windows are opened up and the wind is blowing through the house. It feels like it just refreshes the whole house and everyone in it!

Smiles, Cass

Even with the presence of snow, you have a serious case of Spring fever. This past weekend, my husband cleaned out the garage. The girls and I cleaned out the toy room. I am in the midst of spring cleaning my office and master bedroom.
