When the Storm Clouds Cease

Sometimes, we mothers get so tired of trying to be good financial stewards. We carefully shop, cook and manage so that little is wasted. When a crisis comes, our foundation is shaken and the rain-of-tears starts to fall. . . We feel hopeless and destitute.

It seems that when great trials come, we seek God more.  We rely on Him because we cannot manage the impossible on our own.

Today, as I was driving home from my errands, I realized that all my worries this week had been resolved. I had been through yet another storm, and had survived.

"O ye of little faith." - This passage echoes in my mind from Scripture.

Sometimes I wonder, "Lord, did you decree poverty for me, so I could comfort the poor?"

Have you lived our week too? Just when our finances were starting to straighten out, our only car breaks down. God provided the money to fix it. Then, after picking it up from the shop, the battery died on it. We had two dollars in the bank. My wonderful MIL called and offered to put some money in so we could get a battery. She went and did it and put in 25 more than she originally said she would. I'm so glad she answered that nudge because the batter was more than we were told due to the car we have.

God has always provided for us to have what we need. And He orchestrated a very large raise for my husband this week. I am so grateful.

Thank you for writing this.

Worries seems to plague everyone these days because of the sad state of economy yet how lucky we are compare to so many...If only we remembered to let God take the 'worry' part out of each day...
Thank you for sharing your week...I too took a few moments to say Thank you Lord for everything, we made it!!
Thank you also for the opportunity to win (and receive today!) 'The Shunning'! My family and I are sure to spend quality time tonight whilst seeing it (providing we still have power...very blustery here on the island today) and I have promised to share it with my daughter and her little family as well.
God bless,

So many families (including my own) are struggling financially. Prior to reading your post, I read another one with similar issues.

I'm so thankful that God has supplied our every need...not our WANTS, but definitely our needs! :-)

Wow, talk about perspective! God will always use our circumstances for the good if we allow him to show us opportunities to be a blessing---and take advantage of those opportunities!

I would like to invite you to my weekend linkup. It involves anything related to homemaking: recipes, sewing, decorating, crafts, DIY, a story about what you did today, etc! I know that with your encouraging and REAL posts, you'd be a great addition to the party!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!
