Kick-Start your Fitness with a $10 Wal-Mart Gift Card - Giveaway

I have joined with 9 other bloggers to encourage our readers to get a head - start on their fitness before the New Year.

Starting today, and throughout the month of December, we will be blogging every Friday with updates on our progress. We are all at different levels of health and fitness and look forward to sharing this adventure with you!

We will be running giveaways throughout this project and will keep you updated.  The first giveaway is for a $10 Wal-Mart Gift Card.  I'll tell you how to enter in just a minute.

We'd love to have you join us, or even just read along. Here is the plan:

1. Starting today, we will be taking notes about our daily fitness activities.

2. Every Friday, for the next 4 Fridays, we will be reporting our progress.

With Christmas coming, all the holiday foods can make us feel guilty. We want to work through the month with a strong commitment to staying on track with our health goals.  By the time New Year's Day comes along, we will already be doing great and feeling motivated!

I have already begun by joining myfitnesspal.com I am watching my portions and what I eat.With this website I am actually measuring my foods and working out harder even though that is hard for me when I am homeschooling my son bc I tend to find other things that need finished instead.

drinking water and as a diabetic I also watch portions and the amount of bad carbs as well as adding in healthy fats like butter.

I'm so glad you're doing this! I still have a long way to go, but, two days before Thanksgiving, reached my next goal and have managed to maintain since, but, have not done well with my walking. I just got started back with it (after a two week lapse) last night. !ith family Christmas coming up the 10th and other events scattered throughout the Christmas season I need the extra encouragement. Thank you! By the way...I posted about this on FB. Thanks, again!

I'd love to enter! Our family is very careful to eat healthy and we often don't use white flour when we bake since it turns to sugar in your bloodstream quickly. We often grind up oatmeal and use that!

I get up early twice a week (T/Th) and go to the gym while my husband graciously takes care of breakfast and getting the kids on course for our day. I started last January and it has made a BIG difference in how I feel!

I drink only water and organic milk, make sure I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, do not eat refined sugars or very much processed foods, and I work out doing dance, yoga, or pilates 4x a week. :)

I am trying to stay healthy by increasing the amount of water I have been drinking. I was done to almost none and I am now back up to at least 4 cups. I'm also trying to increase my vegetable intake and lower my carb intake. Then the last step is somehow adding in some exercise, which always seems the last thing I do.

I normally hit the gym 5 days a week. I fell shoveling snow this morning and took a pretty hard hit to my head, but expect to be back within a days. It's much easier to just make it a scheduled, regular part of your life. Then you don't think about it too much. :) Thanks for the giveaway!

I have been on a fitness plan since July 4th and have lost over 20 lbs. I would like to lose 10 lbs. more but have really plateaued and I am going to have to do a jumpstart after Christmas. I walk everyday, watch what I eat, use some weights, drink water.

I ride my stationary recumbent bike. I am going to be at 10 miles per day by Christmas. I started in August, adding a mile every 2 weeks, to reach my goal. I had nerve damage after a very botched hip replacement, and my lower leg still is not at full function after nearly 6 years. (That foot was paralyzed for 1 full year.) So this is physical therapy for me. I just ask for prayer from your readers for the discipline to keep at it. The prescriptions I'm on for pain and seizures causes weight gain, so I am at my highest ever; and more than anything want it gone for good!

Let us all encourage each other!

Thanks for this post and all you share on your blog. Such an encouragement.

I'm working hard at losing some weight, bringing my diabetes under better control. Met with my dietitian, joining an exercise class in January, joined myfitnesspal.com at the recommendation of my dietitian, eating healthier, doing something to MOVE every day, praying for strength to persevere. ~ Abby

Oh my, what I do to stay healthy? Go to bed early, rise early, pray, drink water, T-Tapp, use coconut oil, eat organic, avoid processed foods (most of the time...), etc. :) Thanks for the giveaway opportunity! ~Lisa :)
