Ages - Any student from around 1st grade through adult will benefit from this.

Homeschooling parents don't have to worry about teaching art anymore. Master instructor Pat Knepley does a marvelous job taking your student through an entire history curriculum from the comfort of your home.  Students learn by watching a DVD. They use basic items from around the home - like a pencil, eraser and piece of paper.

I received the First DVD to review. It covers "The Basics," which include four lessons:

1. Tool of the Trade.
2. It all starts with a line.
3. Contours and Composition.
4. Draw what you see.

I had John (13) watch this. He found it easy to follow and enjoyed it very much. We have been searching for a good program for him. I love how Pat actually teaches the lessons on DVD, as if we are sitting in a classroom. In the past, we have always used workbooks or activity books which left me to figure out how to teach. I have always wanted to find a thorough instruction presented to us on DVD, so this is fabulous!

This curriculum emphasizes a Christian worldview, which is very important to me.  Pat is upbeat and friendly. She offers plenty of creative techniques. Her excitement and commitment to teaching is inspiring.

Overall, this series provides an outstanding art education at an affordable price.

Only 2 more months left homeschooling my son(18). I've been home educating our 6 children since 1985. This art looks great. We used Abeka's art and music-and Christian Light Education's art.
