I recently watched two biographies on DVD. These were like movie clips of actors dramatizing scenes in the lives of these people. They were fascinating and inspiring.
I wanted to share these with you by doing a giveaway. One winner will receive both of the following DVDs:
1. "The Fanny Crosby Story"
Fanny Crosby was a blind hymn writer of more than 10,000 hymns!
We see glimpses of her childhood, her years away at school during her youth, and we see her work writing and publishing hymns.
Some of her best loved hymns are still sung in churches and homes today.
They include:
"Safe in the arms of Jesus"
"Rescue the Perishing"
"Blessed Assurance"
"To God Be the Glory"
"Near the Cross"
This DVD is 46 minutes long. It is in both color and black and white.
2. "C.H. Spurgeon - The People's Preacher."
C.H. Spurgeon is one of the most famous preachers of all time. His sermons and writings are still encouraging and inspiring generations of the Lord's people.
The brief biography begins with his youth. We see him being called to preach, going to his first church, the beautiful English countryside where he lived, and some of his "trials and triumphs."
It is very well done. It will inspire viewers to look to their own lives, desiring a closer walk with the Lord and more service in his fields.
This DVD is 70 minutes long. It is in color.

Thanks so much for doing this giveaway, Mrs. White! I like Blessed Assurance and Safe in the Arms of Jesus. Right now, I can't think of other hymns that she wrote, though my children read a biography about her this year.
I shared on my Blessed Homemaking Facebook page.
I subscribe to email updates of your blog!
I'd pick "To God Be the Glory", have sung it as long as I can remember! Thanks for the chance to win!
I receive your emails. Thanks!
"Blessed Assurance" is a favorite hymn. Reminds me of going to church with my grandparents. I love the traditional hymns. Tennessee Ernie Ford sang them so well.
Take the world and give me Jesus would be one of my top favorites!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to enter to win the DVD's. My family enjoys watching movies about important people in Christian History. My favorite Fannie Crosby hymns are Jesus Is Calling, Blessed Assurance, Tell Me The Story, and my favorite...Near The Cross.
I do subscribe to your blog posts as well. Thank you!
Hi Mrs. White!
I have only heard "Blessed Assurance," so I suppose that's my favorite.
I subscribe. :)
Thank you for the giveaway opportunity. To God Be the Glory is one of my favorites; however, all are worthy of our Lord!
Dear Mrs. White, I would sure be thrilled to receive your generous "give-away". The favorite hymn of mine would have to be Safe in the Arms of Jesus. My sister lost a baby to SIDS, just like Fanny did. It was a touching hymn to have at the funeral. She had such a sweet spirit to write such inspired songs. And of course, my family would also enjoy anything about Brother Spurgeon. What a great man of the Lord.
Thank you for your constant blessings in your Blog. I always feel your love.
Sincerely, Mrs. Sandra Lewis

The Spurgeon DVD sounds wonderful!
Thank you for the opportunity to win, Mrs. White!
I subscribe as well. ☺
Thank you. I love "Near the Cross". I would love to watch both of those biographies. Near the cross reminds me of God's healing power...
"Free to all a healing power".
I reposted this on Facebook. What a wonderful giveaway! My favorite Fanny Crosby hymn is Blessed Assurance. Sheila Anderson
Sheila Anderson again! I also subscribe to your emails!
They are all so good, but I have a special sentiment to All the Way My Savior Leads Me. There is an arrangement that I like to sing with the same words but different from the hymn that is a little more slow and meditative.
"To God Be The Glory" is definitely my favorite! sunrigs@yahoo.com
I love "To God be the Glory!" krstnwnstn@yahoo.com
What a generous giveaway, Mrs. White. We need mentors and encouragers in our faith like these two. Perhaps Blessed Assurance would be my favorite.
Thank you for hosting this giveaway! I would love to enter. My favorite Fanny Crosby hymns are "Blessed Assurance" and " He Hideth My Soul".
