Presenting the Winner of the Homemaking Book

Gigi Photography: Mrs. White's Book

Early this week I wrote about what our family is doing for Thanksgiving.  I included a giveaway of my new book, "Introduction to Home Economics: Gentle Instruction to Find Joy in Christian Homemaking."  In this post I asked to hear all about what you are doing for Thanksgiving. I was so very blessed by all your comments!

You shared your menus, whether you were hosting or travelling. Some of you emailed me privately telling me your plans.  Some told me you were going to be alone. Some were suffering from severe trials. Others were missing family members.  As I read each comment I prayed for each of you.  I felt grateful for you!

Your sweet stories of Thanksgiving and plans made me smile. I loved hearing all about your lives! Thank you so much for sharing with me and with my readers!

There were 97 entries for a chance to win my book. Of course, I wanted to give one to everyone! But I decided I can manage to give away 2 copies. So there will be two winners. (They have already been contacted by email.) They are as follows:

1st Winner:
 Comment by Jessica:

"We will be spending Thanksgiving with a fellow homeschool family. We are moving the week after to a new state and so our friends graciously invited us to share the day with them!"

2nd Winner:
  Comment by Rebecca Knox:
"We always travel to spend Thanksgiving with our youngest daughter and her husband in Kansas City. It's been a lovely day here and trust that it's been the same for you. Happy Thanksgiving!"

BONUS:

There is still a chance to win a copy of this book.

This was the first Thanksgiving I didn't cook ... we are survivors of the 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, CA ... we lost our home, contents, husband's construction business as well as all his CalFire gear/tools/ID card so he couldn't answer the call to service. We are camping in our 20' trailer at a KOA campground next to Gold Country Casino in Oroville, CA. The casino hosted a no-cost Thanksgiving buffet for all the evacuees staying at the campground. We are thankful for life - we escaped without injury as did our oldest daughter and two granddaughters who also lost all earthly possessions. Through all this horrific catastrophe, we are thankful for what we do have. The rain has started, the temperatures have lowered, winter is here ... and we have a tin roof over our heads. God is our comfort and eternal hope.
