A Walk to our River and starting a YouTube Channel

Our River at the Border of our Vermont Property - April 2019

We took a walk along the back of the property.  I wanted to get a video of the river so you could listen to the water as it rushes along.  I asked Papa (my husband) if he would help me with his camera.  We walked slowly along the back property and did a short video. This is all very new to us and we still don't know what we are doing, but it was fun.

I put this up on YouTube and started a channel for the blog.  (Be sure to "subscribe" if you would enjoy seeing my future videos.)   Here is the first one:

(If you are receiving this through email and are not able to see the video, just go directly to the blog to view.)

I have no idea how to add text to the video, or how to do much of anything.  Any advice would be much appreciated!

Also, are you interested in my doing videos?  If so, what kind would you like to see?

The spring weather here is wonderful.  We were out with some of the grandchildren yesterday. They enjoyed gathering sticks and putting them in piles for us to discard.  We are raking and cleaning up the property.  Most of the snow has melted now.  I noticed, in my little flower garden, that my tulips have started to come up!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Hello, this is the first time I've commented to your blog, though I am a long time lurker here. I also subscribed to your YouTube channel. It would be nice to see some videos about grocery shopping, the pantry, stocking up on groceries, that sort of thing. Have a wonderful day!

That’s wonderful. I would love to see more videos. Cleaning, contentment, praying for older children, economy are some topics I would be interested in.

I grew up on a river like that; it would lull me to sleep every night. I’m excited about your YouTube channel! I’d like to hear more about your daily routines and the ways you encourage your family, especially your adult children. Thank you for your many years of ministering to me through your blog.

What a beautiful river! Such a blessing it must be to be so close to natural beauty.

I have subscribed to your channel. I would love to see videos about homemaking, especially decorating, on a very limited budget.

The video is nice, the river is exciting to watch. I am so excited that you are starting a YouTube channel--I will be letting my viewers know, and posting a link to your channel this afternoon. I think you have a lot to say to homemakers today, and anything you choose to talk about will be appreciated. As for text on the videos, editing, etc, that will come as you keep learning. Perhaps your children can help you with an editing program? You may even have one already on your computer. Please forgive my unladylike behavior as I shout, "YIPPEE!"

Wow! That river sure is moving swiftly! It is lovely, but a bit frightening at the same time. Very nice video. If you have the time and energy, I would like to see videos of some of the surrounding countryside in Vermont. Hope you are feeling better now.

Oh that video is beautiful, the green tree by the river is just so neat, it reminds me of an old painting that i have walked into. : )

I would love to see you on youtube! I can put that on my screen with my channel master and it will be on tv! : )

You could do just what ya do every day? Cooking, decorating outdoors etc. Just the life of Mrs. White. I too have thought of doing some. Have you seen Vivmonm sews on youtube? She is so funny, it's a good example of just someone just sharing life and talents. I used to watch her makes on the sewing review site and then she moved to youtube.

You take care now! Keep us posted!

Blessings! ~Amelia

That is so neat. I would love to have something like that on or by my property. We get a little bit of a creek when it rains hard but that doesn't last long.

I would love to see more videos of your yard, or cooking, or housekeeping. Or traveling. Just about anything really.

What a beautiful spot! Cannot wait to see it in springtime, too. I've already subscribed to your channel. I think that speaking about contentment in your circumstances is very needed these days. Frugal living, hope, faith in God, how you do certain homemaking skills, how to cope with the challenges of health and aging, and just putting a face and a voice behind your blog. It doesn't have to be fancy, and the videos don't have to be long. Just be you!

Hello Mrs. White,
I have read and enjoyed your blog for a long time, I don’t think I have ever commented. I really enjoyed the YouTube video of the river!

While I am not very technical, I have enjoyed slowly learning how to make videos and post my blog. Learning is good ;). So no worries if everything isn’t perfect ;)

I enjoy reading more than videos so I would hope you would keep writing and not replace your wiring with YouTube completely.

Please know that I will continue on this blog, just as I always have. The videos will be a separate thing. I enjoy writing here and will keep going.

You are so fortunate to have that wonderful river in your back yard! That is my dream; to live on a piece of property bordered by a river or with a spring/pond/stream on it.

I would like to see more of Vermont's natural beauty. Anything you have to share regarding home and faith would be wonderful, too.
