Few gifts were exchanged, and the food was simple but plentiful. We especially looked forward to Memaw's baked treats for us kids. All us cousins would sleep on the floor on pallets of quilts sewed by Memaw. We didn't get a lot of sleep on those nights due to excessive whispering and giggling but had wonderful times.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718905863879655459.post-15692414732778870842011-12-25T16:36:51.603-05:002011-12-25T16:36:51.603-05:00I have countless memories about Christmas, all fro...I have countless memories about Christmas, all from faraway...always remembered as something like fairy tales...Christmas was very traditional for us, nothing like the commercialized ones seen here...
Midnight mass, Yule log, greens purchased on the market place, hot chestnuts purchased from street vendors and the lighting of thetree...followed by Boxing Day of course once I was married...
I'll be home for Christmas is a favourite of ours...
May His light shine upon you and yours always and Merry Christmas!Noelle the dreamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07805639450753772211noreply@blogger.com
