The Silent Governess
Julie Klassen has written a delightful book! The Silent Governess is an intriguing story set in the same time period as the writings of Jane Austen. I enjoyed taking my time reading and enjoying every word. Here you'll learn about a young lady who flees from her home and ends up as a servant in a wealthy, upper class home. She then becomes a governess to the children. The story is shrouded in mystery which is skillfully and carefully woven throughout the book. A nice feature is at the beginning of each chapter. Mrs. Klassen shares enlightening and educational quotes about the lives of servants from the 1800's.
This is a wholesome, enjoyable story and I am delighted to have found another talented author of quality fiction!
*Disclosure: I received this book from Bethany House Publishing for review purposes.*
