Elegant Music for the Home - A Review

I love to listen to an orchestra play classical music.  It is wonderful to have this kind of music to listen to in the home or in the car.  Years ago, an art teacher suggested to homeschooling parents that they should have a tape of this type of music to play while the children are doing their art lessons.  This type of culture is excellent for the family.

I had no idea there was an orchestra who played hymns and sacred songs until I came across the CDs of Jan Mulder.  I was delighted when I heard the samples. I was even more thrilled when I received two of the CDs!

CD:  "Love Divine"  London Symphony Orchestra - Jan Mulder

Approximate running time:  54 minutes

Includes:  A Little booklet listing all the 16 songs, as well as lyrics and pictures.

This CD includes the hymn "More Love to Thee" which was written by Elizabeth Prentiss in the 1800's. She is the author of the beloved book, "Stepping Heavenward."

Other notable hymns are: "Amazing Grace," "Abide with Me," "It is Well with my Soul," and more.

CD:  "Love Divine III"  Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - Jan Mulder

Approximate running time:  58 minutes

Includes:  A Little booklet listing all the 20 songs, as well as lyrics and pictures.

Notable hymns are the beautiful "Be Thou My Vision," "How Great Thou Art," "This is my Story" and more.

I love both of these CDs and would be delighted to have more in the collection over time.  The music is soothing, peaceful, and incredible.

To hear samples of the songs, please visit the Love Divine CD site.
