Marmee Dear's Treasury of Vintage Homekeeping Skills

Book - Treasury of Vintage Homekeeping Skills

Written By - Marmee Dear, author Mrs. Martha Greene

Price - $19.95

This lovely book is amazing! I have spent the last few months enjoying reading it over. It is quite a reference book. I was inspired, calmed, encouraged, educated, and motivated!

There are cute little sayings and Bible Verses neatly adorned throughout.   Some of what you'll find inside:

1. Sections for your notes.
You have places to attach personal photos. You can also record births, family ancestry, milestones, personal recipes and your own thoughts and ideas.

2. Hospitality.
Find out how to serve a hospitable table, ideas for taking care of overnight guests, and sample menus.

3. Home Duties -
A suggested list of what to do in the morning, afternoon and evening. There is also a sweet article called "Children's Duty to Parents" adapted from an 1842 directive.

4. Recipes and Garden Plans -
Details for growing seasonings, arranging a garden, preserving and several recipes are included.

5. Home Arts -
Learn to Knit, Sew and Crochet with these sweet instructions!

6. Laundry -
The care and keeping of clothing, towels and bedding. Learn how to iron and make a clothespin bag. How to make a Bed.

You'll also find a section to record family medical history, An Explanation of Home Remedies, Essentials for the Kitchen, what a pantry inventory consists of, a section on frugality and keeping household accounts.

This useful and pretty book makes an excellent reference. Every housewife would be delighted to own a copy! I plan to buy one for each of my three girls. I know it will be extremely helpful to them once they start their own families and have their own homes. This book is like having "Mother" and "Grandmother" right there to lovingly guide the homekeeper in her daily tasks.

*Disclosure - I received this book from the Author for review purposes.*
