There is a certain way to behave which presents oneself as a lady. There is an old-world style of charm and grace which is calming to others. This is a rare sort of person in our current culture. If this lady dresses in a gentle manner, with lace at the cuffs and collar, along with soft and feminine colors, she exudes a sweetness as she goes about her day. If her manners and heart are full of kindness and love, combined with the lovely style of dress, she will send forth a light of inspiration and goodness. She will be a rare and much needed soul as she ministers in her home and community.
What of those who sneer at her? Yes, there will be many who do not care for old-time feminine grace. There will be scoffers and gossip-mongers. There always are such people, in every generation, throughout the ages. This must not trouble her. There are a great variety of opinions and ways of living. Why should a lady change to blend in with a crowd when she is doing such great work as a shining light?
Always remember this: Your happiness doesn't rest in the way others treat you. It rests in a close walk with the Lord.
Let us aspire to be ambassadors of the Lord's work. Keep to the work at hand, tidy the house, cheer up the family, be a peacemaker with a meek and loving heart, and always do your very best to behave like a gracious lady.

Wonderful advice Mrs. White! Feminine and graciousness and gentility have all fallen out of style in this world, but we are not to worry about the ways of this fallen world.

This is why I scramble to these posts when they pop up in my email:). I know I can come here and feel supported and encouraged! I love my life, my home, my family and my deep call for it. I always appreciate being reminded to keep going, keep the noise out and keeping the gifts the Lord has given me right in the front of my awareness! My husband told me no less than three times how much he loved the lentil soup I made and went back for seconds:). What more could I want? The Lord’s blessing is right there:). Thank you, Mrs. White! Also, eggs and butter prices are down by me in the Midwest! Hope it is so by you!
I think sometimes people look at me when I wear a dress as a novelty. But I do always get good respect when I am out in public...
Our current culture is so out of place with knowing what a woman should look like and act. A gentle and quiet spirit, can also be seen in a modest but lovely outfit. Our grace and charm should extend way beyond our wardrobe. I love some of the dresses of the 1800. Thanks again, Mrs. White for your words of wisdom and Bibical truth.

The Lord gives such grace to women ( feminine grace as you call it) that we should be willing to share it abundantly with others. It brings glory to God. I like what you wrote here. Blessings!
Such a precious post, and so much needed for today in time, What my heavenly Father thinks about me is what matters, and He has set guidelines in His word as to how we as women are to dress and conduct ourselves, thank you for sharing.

That is so true! We can't let this world dictate how we dress or behave.
We have to abide to the laws and do our best to be beacons of God's Light in this world and dress acordingly to His Will.

Dear Mrs. White, I've just come upon this post when I finally decided to wear a dress. I admit ashamedly that I've been wearing what I see other women around me wearing, athleisure, I'll call it- leggings, crop tops, sports bras. I felt convicted to cover up today and then I read your post on Feminine Grace! God is good, He will provide us with timely help when we trust in Him. Bless you for your words.
