TYPICAL THURSDAY AT HOME

Godly Homemaking wisdom for a peaceful and joyous home life. . .. "Faint not; the miles to heaven are but few and short." -Samuel Rutherford
"Our fair morning is at hand;
the day star is near the rising,
and we are not many miles from home.
What matter, then, of ill-entertainment
in the smoky inns of this worthless world?
We are not to stay here,
and we shall be dearly welcome
to Him to whom we are going."
- Samuel Rutherford, 1600's -

I love this post and imagine the houses of old and what they must have been like. I love that life revolved around FAMILY and GOD!
Great examples for us to follow.
So true. I want my home to be like that.
Isn't it interesting how all of the modern "conveniences" of life had somehow made our lives so much more complicated?!
Great post!
Your post is very thought-provoking. I like simplicity, and in fact, as homes go, mine is simple. (Though I do have central Heat/AC, a "modern" kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, small appliances, etc.) But if I am completely honest with myself, I'll have to say I wouldn't want to live the "old-time way."
I think I could probably live without television, computers, and phones for awhile, at least! I could even live without the mall.
But I wouldn't want to do without electricity and indoor plumbing. I can't imagine myself chopping wood and cooking on a wood-burning stove, hand-washing clothes in a washtub, and heating water for baths. I guess I'm a diva, but I'm used to the modern amenities.
Spoiled? Yep. I suppose so!
