It is 30 below zero this morning. I am shivering in this cold little room. I will hurry up and get back to the fire in the living room. As soon as I warm up, I will start some baking and homekeeping. Why can't there be such a thing as "house gloves"? We have house coats (bathrobes) and house shoes (slippers), so why not house gloves? They would certainly help keep me warm.
Mr. White and I have been talking about spending some time at the beach this summer. He has a lot of vacation time and we hope to enjoy the warm summer air at the beach. I can't wait!
I have been thinking a lot about economical ways of keeping utility and heat bills down. I posted a question on one of my facebook pages and got some wonderful responses. One of the ladies mentioned using a fleece blanket as a curtain. They have so many with pretty designs. I think it's a good idea! Maybe I can get some beach or tropical scenes! These will help insulate the windows and keep out drafts.
I want to fill the house with warm thoughts and images today. Maybe the children can do a craft project about summer time!
What are you doing to keep warm today? Will you do some baking? What will you make?
Blessings

Usually really cold days result in crock pot meals and lots of baking getting done ... or making a tent (my kids are little) and snuggling under blankies with some books and maybe a movie and even a picnic.
WOW! I just can't fathom that kind of COLD! I don't know how you stand it!!! WOW!
I am so pitiful! We woke up to 28 degrees (above 0!) and we will probably get up to 45 or higher and I was thinking how cold it was! Obviously I cannot complain!!! Stay warm and enjoy the family time!
If you knit or crochet you can make the fingerless mitts to keep your hands warm inside:-)

Lisa Grace, crock pot meals sound great. Tents and books and movies with the children sounds lovely.
Busymomof10, it certainly takes some getting used to, but I've lived in New England my whole life. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I wasn't cold! (smiles)I remember being in Tennessee in January a few years ago, and my hostess had me set up in a room that was an addition. She came in at night to turn the heat on for me, but I said I needed the cold or I couldn't sleep!
Oh Lorus! It sounds warm where you are!
Suzanne, what a perfect idea! I haven't knitted in years, but I should try. Those gloves look like just what I need. Thank you!

I made some hand warmers a few years ago and they helped a lot. They were simple knitting.
Perhaps they could help. Or cut the tips off some gloves.
