Mother's Rose - Colored Glasses

Painting by Jan Verhas Still,1896.

Imagine walking through life seeing all things, hearing all things and being constantly bombarded with reality - emotions, drama and stress. This is not an easy kind of life. Now imagine, instead, a delicate pair of rose - colored glasses. Once a Mother puts these on, she cannot hear as well. Her vision is a little blurred, and her focus is not entirely clear. Her sharp focus is weakened and this relieves a great deal of pressure on her delicate soul.

She can walk through life in a subdued world, where she is more sheltered and protected from the unloveliness of real life.  When she wears these glasses, she becomes more gentle, more meek and more kind. Why? Because she becomes just a little bit handicapped and fragile, and this will greatly affect her demeanor.

I now have another reason to love roses:)

I agree that unless we look for and see the best, we can be overwhelmed by the trials.

So many women today would prefer not to wear the glasses... They say: "What if I get caught off-guard and end up looking foolish? What if someone takes advantage of me? I have more pride than that...etc."

It takes some humility and a whole lot of trust in Jesus to put on the rose-colored glasses and allow yourself to become a little bit sheltered, a little bit meeker, a little bit weaker... What joy is found, though, in allowing God to be our strength and to fill in the gaps for the hindrances that come with wearing the rose-colored glasses!

Have a lovely day!

Happy Pink Saturday Sweetie...
What a gorgeous share today. I love the story you have shared about the rose colored glasses. A little over a year ago, I lost most of my speaking voice, and I too am a little more handicapped and fragile these days. I have seen life through new eyes, and have learned to be a little more patient and alot more sensitive to others needs. It is amazing that in my new skin, it has relieved a great deal of pressure on my delicate soul. I no longer worry about the things that are down the road, and just keep on the path I believe that God means for me to take.

Many thanks sweetie for this beautiful post, that so touched my heart this evening.

I am your newest follower and can't wait to see what you share next. Country hugs, Sherry

I loved your post! I'm a little late in getting around to everyone, but the message you share is a valuable one. Kind of the same as "walking in another persons shoes". Have a wonderful week.
