I've been up since early this morning. John (13) and I did all our errands. We bought our groceries for the week and stayed within our budget. It will be a nice week at home.
I plan to listen to gospel music and clean my house. I will make a nice lunch and a special supper tonight. It seems dark and gloomy outside, but I still put the laundry on the clothesline. It doesn't matter if it rains a little, the clothes will still be fresh and smell sweet! I will just throw them in the dryer for a few minutes later on.
If I have some energy this afternoon, I will bake some chocolate chip cookies. I want to light candles and enjoy a quiet, simple life today. I hope to stay home all day tomorrow too. I need to catch up on some reading. I have several devotional books by some great theologians - Richard Baxter, Charles Spurgeon and Thomas Watson. I need to study the great Puritans to get my cluttered mind off the worldly culture around me.
I will wash my kitchen floor, polish my stove, drink tea and be a happy homemaker!
I hope you have a delightful weekend!

Your day sounds absolutely perfect! I did a huge kitchen clean-up the other day, so this weekend I want to rest as well. There's nothing like staying home and relaxing. Like you, I also need many breaks from the rush-rush of today's world and trappings!
God Bless Your Lovely Weekend!
Dee :)
off to have my tea.;)
Mrs. White,
After reading this, my whole self did an involuntary 'Ahhhh...!' and relaxed.

I hope to follow your lead in having a truly lovely day.
(Our Kiddos have out-of-town friends over but they entertain each other (usually) quite beautifully so if I have enough energy, I plan to do some sewing & laundry. Last time the two 'little girls' (8/9 y/o) had a lovely tea party while the boys (11 y/o) played outside & the 'big girls' (12/14 y/o) played Stratego and also helped the little girls -- they all had a lovely time. I'm hoping for the same, today!). :)
