A Lovely Evening at Home

Matthew (16) is making a special supper for me tonight. I am having Rice-a-Roni and peas. Mr. White made supper for everyone else. I have had a nice rest all day.

Weekdays are exhausting for me because of all the errands and such I have to do. So I love just staying home on weekends and enjoying the peace and quiet, without any pressure.

I will probably watch a nice movie.

Last night Amy baked a chocolate cake for me. The box mix she used was only a dollar. It came out wonderfully. She baked it, somehow, in our tiny toaster oven.

Tomorrow I will probably pull out some of my old Good Old Days books. I love reading about how families made the most of life even though they had little or no money. They were so creative! I am encouraged by reading their stories.

I am looking forward to hearing the church bells at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning. It is like a signal to awaken the soul. There is a small church just a few houses down from us, and I just love hearing that church bell each Sunday morning.

Next week is Thanksgiving. We will enjoy a nice dinner with my parents (who live with us). What a special time we will have!

Blessings

Dear Mrs. White,
I'm enjoying reading your blog. Having a daughter bake a cake is absolutely wonderful! These days, when my daughter cooks or bakes, I can relax abit more and be thankful she has these skills.

Thank you for being my blogging friend!

May you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
God bless you and your sweet family,
d
