When Mother Slows Down
The weather is pleasant and warm. I am surrounded by heap and heaps of melting snow but the air reminds me of a spring day at the beach. It is lovely. I have been caught in a whirlwind for quite some time and it is nice to just slow down.
I don't want to think about what I have to do tomorrow or next week. God will give me the strength just at the right moment - as it all happens.
I received lovely comments and notes about this morning's post. They greatly comforted and encouraged me. I am sure they encouraged many others who are dealing with the same trials. So many mothers are doing more than they can handle. This will pass. It will get better for all of us.
I spent most of the day resting while the children took over the housework. I did a couple of quick errands but came home and went back to my rest. Amy (16) washed the kitchen floor, vacuumed the playroom, did some shoveling, tidied the kitchen and is now deep-cleaning her room. I am delighted!
I was reading a little from Elizabeth Prentiss' Life and Letters. I am always encouraged by her words and way of life. She lived during the 1800's and wrote the most inspiring stories I have ever come across. Her writing calms me.
I am just about to have a little hot chocolate. Then I will read for a little while. Tomorrow will be a better day.
Blessings

How wonderful of God to give us a spring-like day on St. Patrick's Day!
just yesterday I was reading a portion of Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss to our children as an example of an honest and lively journal entry!
